Kids making a difference

It's been around for a long time, and for too long it went 'un-noticed' but not so any longer.  Over the last number of years, there's been a growing awareness and effort on the part of teachers and others in leadership roles to curb the presence of bullying in our schools.  Bullying also happens outside of school settings, and those who learn early in life that they can get away with it as children will continue to use such tactics as adults.

Then there are some truly brave souls ... the ones who have faced the music, and changed the tune.  This isn't an easy process.  It happens one note at a time, and even when the immediate threat is under control, there are always voices that speak like ghosts to remind the bullied that there might be another bully lurking.  The loneliness and sense of powerlessness that invades can be alleviated though, and it helps to see that some have done it.  It's like giving courage to those who still are haunted.

One of the most powerful messages of encouragement actually has no spoken words (they're all sung and written).  Have a look; you'll see what I mean.
