Only understood from within

Every candidate for Canonization must undergo a defined process of examination, and the process of examination is overseen first and foremost by a postulator.  This is the person responsible for assembling all the documentation to substantiate the claim.

Pope John Paul IIs postulator spoke in an article published today about what he's discovered about the soon-to-be Blessed, and what he has to say is very good indeed.  Some would say that the Beatification is quick in coming.  Indeed the little more than five year time span also raised a few eyebrows from those who also have seen Andre Bissette languish for years before his cause was finally advanced.

Indeed, the Naitonal Catholic Reporter recently published an article expressing some question about the process of Canonization, specifically the speed at which the former pontiff has been advanced to the next steps toward the altar, but the fact is that Saints are created as models of sainthood for the benefit of those of us who are still on the road.

Questionning is healthy.  It allows for critical analysis of a given situation.  Perhaps there is, and always will be, reasons for improving on any human process.  In the meanwhile, the celebration for Poland's newest Blessed is slated to go ahead in just a few weeks' time.
