Early this morning, the local CBC morning show visited with the Sudbury Action Centre for Youth.
Earlier this spring, people from CBC began growing produce in a local community garden, and as of this morning, they have harvested the second crop of beans from this garden. Their aim is to use the produce from this garden to help various agencies in the city who feed the hungry, and this time around, it's the youth who spend their time on our streets who will benefit.
There's a podcast of the interview posted on the website of Morning North (that's the local current affairs program that runs every weekday from 6:30 to 8:30 am, and as it turns out, it's the host of this program who has been the spokesman for the community garden plot that they've been tending over the past couple of months.
The beans won't be around long. They'll find their way onto the table tonight to feed up to 30 youth who may show up for supper. With gratitude from those who will benefit, and from all those who try to do our part to make a difference for these youth.
