The first week of Francis' papacy outlined


The Holy See's Press office issued a communique earlier this morning explaining that this morning, the Holy Father, Francis I would make a private visit to a Marian site in Rome.

This afternoon at 5:00pm local time in Rome, His Holiness will preside at a Mass of Thanksgiving which will be celebrated with the Cardinal electors in the Sistine Chapel.

Tomorrow morning at 11:00am Rome time, the Pontiff will meet with all the Cardinals, including the electors and the non-electors, in the Clementine Hall of the Apostolic Palace.

On Saturday morning at 11:00am, the Successor of Peter will meet with journalists and those who work in various forms of media in the Paul VI Audience Hall.

On Sunday at noon local time, he will recite the first Angelus of his papacy and deliver greetings from the window of the papal apartments.

The Mass to inaugurate the papacy of Francis  I will be celebrated next Tuesday, March 19, the Feast of Saint Joseph beginning at 9:30am in Saint Peter's Square.

On Wednesday, March 20, he will hold an audience with fraternal delegates.  There will not be a General Audience on that day.
