The Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Roman Pontiff released today the schedule for the liturgies at which Pope Francis will preside during the coming Holy Week.

XXX World Youth Day focusing on the theme: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God (Matthew 5:8)
The Holy Father will bless palm and olive branches in Saint Peter's Square beginning at 9:30am and following a procession with these palm and olive branches, will celebrate the Mass of the Passion of the Lord.

Holy Thursday
Mass of Chrism
The Holy Father will preside at the concelebration of the Mass of Chrism along with Cardinals, Patriarchs, Archbishops, Bishops and priests (both diocesan and religious) who are present in Rome, beginning at 9:30am

Good Friday
Commemoration of the Lord's Passion
Beginning at 5:00pm, the Holy Father will preside at a Liturgy of the Word including Adoration of the Holy Cross and the Rite of Communion.
Pope Francis will also preside over the Way of the Cross in the Roman Colosseum beginning at 9:15pm. At the conclusion of the reflections, the Pope will offer a few words to the faithful and will impart the Apostolic Blessing.

Easter Vigil
The Holy Father will bless the new fire in the atrium of Saint Peter's Basilica beginning at 8:30pm and then, following the procession into the Basilica with the Pascal candle and the singing of the Exsultet, he will preside over the Liturgy of the Word, the Liturgy of Baptism and the Liturgy of the Eucharist which will be concelebrated with Cardinals, Bishops and priests who wish to be present.

Easter Sunday
Pope Francis will preside at the Mass for Easter Sunday beginning at 10:15am in Saint Peter's Square. At the conclusion of the Mass, from the central loggia of the Basilica, he will impart his Urbi et Orbi blessing.
