This morning in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father, Pope Francis received in audience the Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, His Excellency, Sir Rodney Williams, who subsequently met with His Eminence, the Cardinal Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, accompanied by His Excellency, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States.
During the cordial discussions, emphasis was placed on the good bilateral relations, strengthened during recent years by the appointment of an Ambassador to the Holy See. Attention then turned to the contribution offered by the Catholic Church to the promotion of the protection of the human person, as well as in the sectors of education and assistance to those most in need, and the hope of a fruitful mutual collaboration.
Finally, the parties considered some themes of regional and global relevance, with particular reference to migratory flows and climate change.
