Peter's Pence online

A new website has been launched for the Pope’s charities and is now online.

This highly anticipated initiative is in addition to the traditional Peter’s Pence collection taken up each year by the Catholic Church on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul (June 29), when the faithful make an offering to the Holy Father for the needs of the universal Church and for his works of charity towards those in greatest need.

This ancient sign of solidarity is present on the internet thanks to a completely new website, which will be regularly updated with pictures and quotes from Pope Francis. The site will be available initially in Italian, English and Spanish, with other languages to follow.

An initiative of the Holy See, the website is the result of close cooperation between the Governorate of the Vatican City State, the Secretariat for Communication and the Institute for the Works of Religion.

In addition to providing relevant information, care has been taken to make the site easy to navigate. The faithful everywhere will be able to better appreciate the importance of their offerings and to donate online to the Holy See’s works of mercy, Christian charity, peace and assistance.
