The Holy Father has appointed a new Eparchial Bishop for the See of Saints Cyril and Methodius of Toronto for Slovaks in Canada: Reverend Father Marián Andrej Pacák, C.SS.R. who has, until now, been serving as chaplain to the Monastery of the Most Holy Trinity among Redemptorist Monks located in Vranov nad Topl'ou-Lomnica (Slovakia). This See has been vacant since His Excellency, John Stephen Pažak, C.SS.R. was translated (transferred) to Phoenix (Arizona) on 7 May 2016.
Reverend Father Marián Andrej Pacák, C.SS.R. was born on 24 April 1973 in Levoča (Slovacchia). On 16 August 1991, he entered the Congregation of Redemptorist Fathers.
On 12 July 1998, he was ordained a priest and subsequently was appointed parochial vicar in Stará L’ubovňa.
In 2003, he was granted a Licence in Moral Theology at the Accademia Alfonsiana in Rome and later returned to Slovakia where he was appointed treasurer for the Vice-Province of the Redemptorists.
In 2016, he completed some courses in Canon Law at Lublin (Poland) and currently serves as Chaplain at the Monastery of the Most Holy Trinity among Redemptorist monks in Vranov nad Topl’ou-Lomnica.
