At 11:00am local time this morning in Rome (5:00am EDT), Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord, the Holy Father, Pope Francis presided over the celebration of the Mass at the Altar of the Chair inside Saint Peter's Basilica.
During the celebration, because of health concerns that are currently in place, the rite of Resurrexit was omitted.
Instead of preaching a homily at this celebration, a moment of silence was observed, permitting private reflection on the miracle of the Resurrection.
