Pope Francis undertakes his fourth international voyage today: a visit to Tirana in Albania.
The aircraft bearing the Holy Father (an Alitalia A320) left Rome's Fumicino airport at 7:30am local time this morning, and arrived at Mother Teresa airport in Tirana at 9:00am.
At the moment when he left Italian airspace en route to Albania, the His Holiness sent the following message to the President of the Italian Republic, the Honorable Giorgio Napolitano:
At the moment when I am preparing to leave for my Apostolic Voyage to the Republic of Albania, I am pleased to send to you Mister President and to all the Italian people my affectionate greetings and good wishes, accompanied by every most cordial and prayerful wish for peace and serenity.
