A visit from home

At the end of the morning audiences today, the Holy Father, Pope Francis received a visit at the Casa Santa Martha from the President of the Republic of Argentina, Doctor Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who was accompanied by a large delegation.

This visit allowed the members of the delegation to present greetings to the Holy Father, along with their best wishes and reassurance of the affection of the Argentinian people on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Pontificate of Pope Francis.

The Pope was waiting for the President and the delegation.  He met them at the door of the Casa Santa Martha at 1:10pm local time.  The meeting took place in the hall on the ground floor of the Casa, first with the entire delegation, and later privately with President Kirchner.  At 1:30pm, the Pope and the President dined privately, and the meeting ended when lunch was concluded.
