Condolences to Spain

In the name of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, the Secretary of State, His Eminence, Pietro Parolin sent a telegram of condolence to Spain today, upon receiving the news of the death of Mister Adolfo Suárez González, former Prime Minister of Spain.

Having received the sad news of the death of His Excellency, Adolfo Suárez González, former Prime Minister of Spain, His Holiness wishes to express his condolences, and to assure you of his fervent prayer to the Lord for the eternal rest of this Spanish figurehead, so celebrated in recent times.

Along with these sentiments, knowing of his family's sadness at such a senseless loss, His Holiness willingly imparts his Apostolic Blessing as a sign of Christian hope in the Risen Lord.
