Dancing

Have you ever taken a good look at the word guidance?

Look with the eyes of faith and you might be surprised what you find.  Perhaps you've played the childhood game involving complex words, involving the practice of finding smaller words contained within, or perhaps manipulating the letters to form smaller words.  If you do this with the word guidance, you'll quickly find the word dance.

Doing God's will is alot like dancing.  Have you ever noticed that when two people dancing both try to lead, nothing feels right?  The movement doesn't flow with the music and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. If one person realizes this, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.  It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.  Dance takes surrender, willingness and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

Also within the word guidance, you may notice the letters g, u and i.  Ok, take a bit of liberty here, and think for a moment that guidance is about God, you and me (I) dancing.

Allowing God to lead the dance that you and I do with Him calls for trust on our part.  Where trust and love are present, there is no room for fear and doubt, so look for guidance, and be willing to trust, to let God lead the dance.

So well said! I think we need to remember not to step on toes...and if that happens we need to get the smooth flow of movement going again.
