Eternal optimism

Every now and then, we have the extreme fortune to meet someone who has lived a really long life.  Centinarians are celebrated for their rarity, and others who have managed to surpass that milestone often do have a secret to share: one to which we should all pay heed.

Alice Herz Sommer is one such centinarian.  On the verge of her 108th birthday, Tony Robbins conducted a televised interview with her in an attempt to grasp her secret.  Her answers are simple, yet profound:

Hatred eats the soul of the hater, not the hated.

All that complain, 'this is terrible'; it's not so terrible.

 I know about the bad, but I look at the good things.
