Council of Cardinals meeting in Rome

The eighteenth meeting of the Council of Cardinals began this morning at the Casa Santa Marta at the Vatican and will continue until Wednesday of this week.

As the gathering began, Cardinal Oscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, who is the coordinator of the group, greeted the Holy Father and thanked him in the name of all the Members of the Council for His words of encouragement for the work of the Council offered during the Christmas greetings he shared on 22 December 2016 with the members of the Roman Curia.

Regarding recent events, the Council of Cardinals expresses its full support for the Pope's work, while at the same time ensuring its full support for him personally and for his Magisterium.
