Always carry the strength of the Gospel

At the conclusion of the Mass celebrated this morning in Saint Peter's Square, with members of Ecclesiastical Movements, new communities, and lay associations, the Holy Father, Pope Francis led the recitation of the Regina Coeli, along with the faithful and pilgrims who had gathered in the Square.

Greetings of the Holy Father, Pope Francis
before the recitation of the Regina Coeli

Dear brothers and sisters,

It is now time to conclude this festival of faith, begun yesterday with the Vigil and which culminated this morning with the Eucharist.  This was a renewed Pentecost which has transformed Saint Peter's Square into an Upper Room in the open.  We have relived the experience of the early Church, which gathered in prayer with Mary, the Mother of Jesus (cf. Acts 1:14).  We too, with a variety of charisms, have experienced the beauty of unity, of being one.  And this is the work of the Holy Spirit, which is always renewing the unity of the church.

I wish to thank all the Movements, the Associations, and the Communities.  You are a gift and a treasure in the Church!  This is you!  I thank especially all of ou who came from Rome and from many parts of the world.  Always carry with you the strength of the Gospel!  Don't be afraid!  Instead, be people of joy and passion for the communion of the Church!  May the risen Lord be always with you, and may the Madonna protect you!

Let us remember in our prayer the people of Emilia Romagna who on May 20 of last year experienced the earthquake.  Let us pray also for the Italian Federation of Volunteer Oncological Associations.

After the recitation of the Regina Coeli, the Holy Father concluded:
Brothers and sisters, thank you so much for your love of the Church.  Have a good day.  Enjoy the festival, and enjoy your lunch.
