Continue living mercy

At the conclusion of the recitation of the Angelus today, the Holy Father signed his Apostolic Letter entitled Misericordia et misera which is addressed to the entire Church, urging us to continue living the mercy that has been experienced during the Extraordinary Jubilee.

On behalf of all people of God, copies of the Holy Father's letter were distributed personally by him to:

  • Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Archbishop of Manila;
  • His Excellency, Leo William Cushley, Archbishop of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh;
  • two priests who are members of the Missionaries of Charity, one from the Democratic Republic of Congo and the other from Brazil;
  • one permanent deacon from the Diocese of Rome, who was present with his family;
  • two religious women, one from Mexico and the other from South Korea;
  • a family composed of parents, children and grandparents from the United States of America;
  • a newly-married couple;
  • two catechists from one of the Roman parishes;
  • one disabled person; and
  • one person who is sick.
