Croatia at the Vatican

This morning at the Vatican, the Holy Father, Pope Francis received in audience His Excellency, Mister Andrej Plenković, President of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, who subsequently met His Eminence, Pietro Parolin, the Cardinal Secretary of State, accompanied by His Excellency, Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States.

During the cordial discussions in the Secretariat of State, appreciation was expressed for the good bilateral relationship that exists and the intention to further develop collaboration in sectors of mutual interest.  Later in the conversation, focus was placed on the main commitments of the Croatian Presidency for the Council of the European Union, with particular reference to challenges that concern the future of Europe.

Finally, they spoke of various themes of an international and regional character, among which, the situation of Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, migration, peace and security.
