From September 5 to 9, 2017, there will be a meeting of the Coordinating Committee of the International Mixed Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church.
The meeting will take place in Leros (Greece), hosted by the Orthodox Metropolitan Paisios (Aravantinos), from the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The work of this session will be overseen by Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the Unity of Christians, and by the Archbishop of Telmessos, Job (Getcha), on behalf of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Following the publication of the joint document entitled Synodality and primacy in the first millenium. Toward a common understanding of service in unity with the Church, last September in Chieti (Italy), the Coordinating Committee has the task of planning the next steps in the process of Catholic-Orthodox theological dialogue.
