Today, the Vatican Press Office released the details for the celebration of the Consistory for the creation of new Cardinals which will take place next Saturday.
Beginning at 11:00am on Saturday, the Holy Father will conduct the Consistory in Saint Peter's Basilica. He will place the Cardinal's beretta on the head of each of the newly-created Cardinals, present each of them with a Cardinal's ring and assign each of them a rank within the College of Cardinals.
On Saturday afternoon, family and friends of the newly created Cardinals will be able to pay them courtesy visits either in the Paul VI Hall or in the Vatican Apostolic Palace. Each of them is assigned to one of those locations and their guests are then free to visit with them to congratulate them.
On Sunday morning, beginning at 10:00am in Saint Peter's Basilica, the Holy Father will preside at the celebration of Mass. All the Cardinals present in Rome will be invited to concelebrate.
