Upon his arrival, around 4:00pm, the Pope greeted the faithful who could not find a place in the church, but who were gathered in the small square outside the church. He then met with various persons from the parish, including the sick and the disabled, young children and those preparing for First Communion and Confirmation, as well as those who have recently been Confirmed. The Holy Father then met members of the Neocatechumenal Way community and the families of children who have been baptised in the past few months. Finally, he heard the confessions of a few of the parishioners. The Pope then presided at the celebration of the Eucharist in the Church of Santa Maria dell'Orazione, and when the Mass was finished, he met with the families of the priests who are currently serving at that parish.
Around 8:00pm, the Holy Father returned to the Vatican.
