Cardinal Pell says he's not guilty

The Holy See has taken note of the decision issued by judicial authorities in Australia regarding His Eminence Cardinal George Pell. Last year, the Holy Father granted Cardinal Pell a leave of absence so he could defend himself from the accusations. The leave of absence is still in place.

His Eminence entered a plea of not guilty in the Melbourne (Australia) magistrate's court this morning.

Cardinal Pell is Australia's most senior Catholic cleric.  He is currently on leave from his post as the controller of the Vatican's finances.  His Eminence has been ordered to stand trial over some of the historic allegations of sexual offences, despite the fact that he has consistently denied them.
