Toward better practices

On Wednesday of this week, through the initiative of the Pontifical Commission responsible for the study and direction of the Economic and Administrative affairs of the Holy See, following a formal procedure of tender and revision, has entrusted to McKinsey and Company the task of providing advice which will lead to the development of an integrated plan for making the organization of the means of communication employed by the Holy See more functional, efficient and modern.  This study will of course necessitate the input of the heads of the relevant departments of the Holy See as well.

The aim of this consultation is that the Commission will be provided with useful information which will allow it to make appropriate recommendations to the Holy Father.

At the same time, in collaboration with the same Pontifical Commission, steps are being taken to align the accounting practices of all the various departments of the Holy See with internationally accepted practices and standards.  Following a formal procedure of tender and revision, the task of collaborating this coordination has been entrusted to the KPMG international network.
