Yesterday afternoon, the Holy Father, Pope Francis received in Audience, His Eminence, Angelo Cardinal Amato, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. During their meeting, the Holy Father authorized the most recent slate of decrees, including the approval of a miracle attested to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God, Paul VI (baptized Giovanni Battista Montini) who served as the Holy Father from June 21, 1963 until August 6, 1978.
Pope Francis also authorized the Congregation to communicate the news that the Rite of Beatification of the Venerable Servant of God, Paul VI will take place at the Vatican on Sunday, October 19, 2014. From that day onward, he will be known as Blessed Paul VI.
