This morning in the Vatican Apostolic Palace in Rome, the Holy Father, Pope Francis received in audience the President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, His Excellency, Mister Juan Evo Morales Ayma, who subsequently met with His Eminence, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State, accompanied by His Excellency, Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States.
During the discussions, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, appreciation was expressed for the contribution the Church has given and continues to ensure in favour of the human, social and cultural progress of the population of the country, and mention was made of the updating of the framework of agreements between the Holy See and Bolivia. In addition, various themes of common interest were evoked.
