At 10:30am today, in the Tribunal Hall in the Vatican City State, the most recent session of the hearing currently in progress concerning the divulging of news and documents under embargo began. Present this morning, other than the Judicial College (made up of Professors Giuseppe Della Torre, Piero Antonio Bonnet, Paolo Papanti-Pellettier and Venerando Marano), the Promotors of Justice (Professor Gian Piero Milano and Roberto Zannotti), the accused parties Lucio Ángel Vallejo Balda, Francesca Immacolata Chaouqui, Nicola Maio and Gianluigi Nuzzi, along with their respective lawyers: Emanuela Bellardini, Laura Sgrò, Rita Claudia Baffioni, Roberto Palombi. Absent from this morning's gathering was the accused Emiliano Fittipaldi, who was represented by his lawyer, Lucia Teresa Musso.
This morning's session was dedicated to the questioning of the accused Doctor Nicola Maio by the Presiding Judge, the Promotor of Justice, his own lawyer and the lawyers of the other accused parties. Finally, the transcript of today's proceedings was read aloud and approved. The session ended at approximately 1:20pm local time.
The next hearing will take place on Wednesday, April 13, beginning at 10:30am.
