This morning, beginning at 10:30am in the Tribunal Hall within the Vatican City State, the previously announced Hearing for the proceedings currently in progress relating to the revelation of reserved news and documents began. Present this morning were, in addition to the Presiding Judges (Professors Giuseppe Della Torre, Piero Antonio Bonnet, Paolo Papanti-Pellettier and Venerando Marano) and the Promotor of Justice (Professor Roberto Zannotti, Associate Promotor of Justice), were the accuseds Lucio Ángel Vallejo Balda, Francesca Immacolata Chaouqui, Nicola Maio, Gianluigi Nuzzi, Emiliano Fittipaldi, with their respective lawyers: Emanuela Bellardini, Laura Sgrò, Rita Claudia Baffioni, Roberto Palombi and Lucia Teresa Musso.
Today's meeting was dedicated to the interrogation of the accused Doctor Gianluigi Nuzzi by the Presiding Judge, the Promotor of Justice and the defense lawyers. Finally, the minutes of today's hearing were read and approved.
Then, some of the lawyers presented requests to the Court to admit testimony other than that which had previously been requested and collected. The Court retired in Camera and refused the requests for new testimony. The hearing ended around 2:15pm.
The next session of this court is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26 beginning at 3:30pm. Having now concluded the interrogation of the accuseds, the focus will now turn to the reception of testimony from approved witnesses.
