In coordination with the measures which have already been launched by Italian authorities, as of today, some further measures are being implemented in an effort to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
Beginning today, Saint Peter's Square and Saint Peter's Basilica will remain closed to guided visits and to all tourists.
Annona's pharmacy and supermarket remain open, but with contingencies for entry.
Also, beginning today, as a precaution, the mobile unit of the Vatican Post Office in Saint Peter's Square will remain closed, as will the two stores of the Vatican Publishing House, the Photo Service of L'Osservatore Romano, which will still remain accessible online, and the clothing warehouse.
The cafeteria for employees will be closed to the public as of tomorrow, 11 March, when a meal delivery service will be activated at the request of the various entities of the Holy See and the Vatican City State.
These measures will remain in force, unless otherwise indicated, until April 3, 2020.
