What if?

In just a few days, the Cardinals gathering in Rome will begin to prepare for the Conclave in which they will elect the next Successor of Peter.  Among those being touted as possibilities (or papabile as the term is known to the locals) is a Canadian Cardinal.

His Eminence, Marc Cardinal Ouellet, PSS, once the Archbishop of Quebec, has most recently served as the Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, a position which ceased to exist yesterday, when His Holiness, Benedict XVI renounced the Petrine Office.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has assembled a report presenting a bit of Cardinal Ouellet's story.  In the coming days, the world will learn the decision of the Cardinals, gathered in Conclave, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to elect the next Pontiff.  If indeed Cardinal Ouellet is elected, there will be many more such reports.  For the moment, here is the CBC report about his hometown and a bit of his family life:
