Condolences to Germany

A message of condolence for the victims of Friday's attack that took place in Monaco (Bavaria, Germany) was sent by His Eminence, Pietro Parolin, the Cardinal Secretary of State, in the name of the Holy Father, to the Archbishop of München and Freising, His Eminence, Cardinal Reinhard Marx.

Pope Francis has learned with consternation, the news of the terrible fact of violence that took place in Monaco, in which various people, above all young people met their death and many others were gravely wounded.  His Holiness shares the pain of survivors and expresses to them his closeness to them in their suffering.  He entrusts the dead in prayer to the mercy of God.

Manifesting his profound participation with all those who have been affected by this attack, and thanking the first responders and those who have been helping with relief efforts for their committed attention and generosity, His Holiness is praying that Christ, the Lord of life will comfort and console all those who are suffering, and he imparts to them his Apostolic blessing as a sign of hope.
